Plan the crate and the handoff together. AML builds in Ottawa and assesses Montreal projects individually, with a focus on larger builds and recurring production requirements. We do not have a Montreal facility or assume that your equipment needs to travel to Ottawa.
Built in Ottawa
for Montreal
For a Montreal buyer, the decision is not simply where a crate can be built. It is where the equipment stays, where packing happens and how the finished crate reaches the next handoff. Those decisions should be settled before anyone commits to moving an asset.
AML operates from one facility at 1255 Humber Place, Ottawa, ON K1B 3W2. We do not present it as a Montreal shop. Ottawa and the surrounding home market are our base; Montreal work is assessed along the corridor according to the actual project.
When a cross-corridor project makes sense. A larger multi-crate requirement or repeat packaging programme may justify coordinating with the Ottawa shop. Begin with the general product mix, approximate quantities and whether repeat orders are expected. For a small, urgent job requiring immediate site attendance, proximity may matter more. AML will discuss fit without promising a route, transit time or a local crew. See all service areas for the broader approach.

Where Montreal
Projects Fit
Start with a general description of the requirement, not sensitive technical detail. The build, protection and logistics are agreed around your project.
A recurring requirement needs more context than a single crate count. Explain whether your team ships the same product, a changing set of assemblies or equipment at different stages of a production cycle. Recurring production crating is one of AML’s two core areas. Quantity and frequency are assessed with the logistics, rather than assuming every order can use the same handoff.
AML is registered under the Controlled Goods Program. Alongside recurring production, this registration is a core part of how AML presents its work. It is not government endorsement or automatic acceptance of every project. Start with a generic enquiry and discuss scope before transferring any sensitive information. See crating and Controlled Goods Program registration.
Servers, test stations, testing equipment, drones and HVAC equipment can be described by general category at first contact. Custom crates for high-value equipment are planned around the agreed asset and handling needs. Foam lining is not an automatic inclusion: you can request it, or AML can propose it for your acceptance. Do not send sensitive measurements or technical descriptions in order to explain a general category.
Plan the
Handoff
Identify where the asset and finished crate need to be. Separate the asset’s present location from where a completed crate is needed. The first request needs only a broad city and province, or an indication that location should be discussed. Precise addresses, sensitive destinations and handling details can follow through the appropriate agreed channel.
Decide who packs, collects and delivers. A crate may be built in Ottawa and transported to the packing location. Agree who fits the asset into it, who loads it and who arranges each collection or delivery. Do not move equipment uncrated on the assumption that a quote requires it to come to Ottawa.
Coordinate access and scheduling before committing. Access, handling arrangements, project scale and the schedule all need to be reviewed. A preferred date is useful planning information, not a confirmed build or delivery date.
- Asset location and crate destination
- Who packs, loads and collects
- Finished-crate supply or site packing
- Access and schedule reviewed first
Domestic
or Export
A crate moving between Ottawa and Montreal is a domestic logistics question. AML can discuss domestic shipping anywhere in Canada, along with loading and delivery responsibilities. Airport delivery is possible where agreed; it does not imply an AML airport depot or control of the international journey.
For an export shipment, export packaging and ISPM-15 are separate from customs and brokerage. AML purchases already heat-treated lumber, not lumber treated in house. The public registration marking is CA-01303 HT; you can review the certifications and registration.
The customer supplies the paperwork that AML may attach to the shipment. The customer or exporter remains responsible for customs, brokerage, export permits and destination requirements. AML does not provide customs or brokerage services, and packaging suitability is not a guarantee of entry or delivery abroad.

Request an
Assessment
Start with the general asset category, quantity or range, whether you expect recurring orders, and the broad location. Tell us if you want to discuss a finished-crate supply or site packing, but it is fine not to know the best arrangement yet.
Keep controlled, classified, export-restricted and sensitive technical information out of the public request. Do not include drawings, classifications, detailed specifications, sensitive measurements or sensitive destinations. AML will agree a suitable channel if further detail is required.
Once AML has enough project information, quote preparation typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Production, packing and transport timing are separate matters to agree for your project.
- General asset category
- Quantity or range
- Recurring or one-off
- Broad city and province

No. AML builds at its Ottawa facility at 1255 Humber Place, Ottawa, ON K1B 3W2. Montreal is a corridor service enquiry, not a separate AML shop. The project and logistics are assessed before work is agreed.
A finished crate built in Ottawa may be supplied to the agreed packing location. Confirm crate delivery, who packs the equipment, who loads it and who arranges onward transport in the quote.
No. The handling plan must be agreed first. Equipment should not be moved uncrated simply because you have requested a quote. Tell AML generally where the asset needs to stay and discuss a suitable approach before committing to a move.
We can assess repeat requirements, quantities and ordering patterns with the Montreal-to-Ottawa coordination involved. The quote needs to establish the packing and transport responsibilities. This page does not promise a standing route, fixed cadence or reserved capacity.
Only for larger projects where the scale justifies travel, and only after AML has assessed the equipment, access, location and schedule. Most work is built in our Ottawa shop and supplied as a finished crate.
A general asset category, approximate quantity, recurring or one-off need and broad city/province are appropriate starting points. Do not send controlled technical data, drawings, classifications, detailed specifications or sensitive destinations. Agree a suitable channel with AML before sharing sensitive information.
